MSU Medical Study Division, the “The International Medical School (IMS)”, is committed to serving community, aiming to produce doctors and medical scientists attuned to community’s health needs. Comprising one campus in Shah Alam, Malaysia and another in Bangalore, India, IMS offers degree and diploma programs in Medical Sciences besides its main MBBS program for Medicine and Surgery.
MSU has developed a five year medical course featuring three phases of study through its International
Medical School (IMS). They are namely;
Phase 1 & 2 (Year 1 & 2)
Delivered through system based modules. Focus on basic medical sciences and offer 11 & 10 modules respectively.
Phase 3 (Year 3, 4, 5)
Delivered through discipline based postings.
Year 3 – Introduction to Basic clinical skills and knowledge.
Year 4 – Introduces different specialties.
Year 5 – Concentrates on consolidation of clinical skills and knowledge.
Accorded ‘Excellent Status University’ twice on the national university-rating system SETARA by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), MSU has also been awarded ‘The Most Entrepreneurial Private University, 2016’ by MoHE. Brand Laureate Best Brands Awards in 2016-2017 for Excellence in Quality International Education and Outstanding Contribution to International Education. A most recent accreditation, placing MSU on world-class standards, was the QS 2016 Rating, which awarded 5 Stars to the university for its Teaching, Employability, Facilities, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness
