Sinhala Tamil new year celebration at Vitebsk State Medical University 2025

A Slice of Home in Belarus

Vitebsk State Medical University came alive with color, culture, and celebration as Sri Lankan students gathered to mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year  in a joyful function.

Held in , the event was a vibrant showcase of Sri Lankan tradition, bringing together students, faculty, and international peers to experience the island’s rich cultural heritage. Dressed in traditional attire, students transformed the campus hall into a festive space filled with music, laughter, and the warmth of home.

For many students, the function was a much-needed celebration in the middle of a demanding academic journey. It allowed them to reconnect with their roots and share their culture with the wider university community a true celebration of home, heart, and heritage.
