The 6 Year MD (Doctor of Medicine) Program is taught extensively on high tech educational mechanism preparing students for the future medical industries. The Academic program is divided into two Phases (First 3 Years – Pre-Clinical Training (Theory based learning) & Final 3 Years – Clinical Training (Practical based learning). GrSMU provides the facility for students to be active in hospital rounds even from the 1st of year studies. Students who wish to appear for the ACT16/ERPM in Sri Lanka to obtain the registration on Sri Lanka Medical Council to practice medicine in Sri Lanka should fulfill the Minimum Advanced Level entry criteria (C,C,S for Local A/L Examination and C,C,D for London A/L Examination in the subjects Biology, Chemistry and Physics) stipulated by the Sri Lanka medical Council (SLMC).

Accommodation

Students are provided accommodation in university’s own “Hostel Accommodation” or could opt for “Private Apartment type accommodation”. There are 3 types of hostel accommodation categories.

1..Old International Student Hostels ( 3 min walking distance to university)
2.New International Student Hostels ( 10 – 15 min walking distance to university)
3.Russian Hostels ( 3 min walking distance to university)

SOLD International Student Hostel
Block type hostel accommodation. A Block includes 4 Rooms (2 Dual Sharing Rooms & 2 Triple Sharing Rooms) with a common kitchen along with 2 Toilets and 2 Bathrooms (All inside one block). Each Room occupies – 2 or 3 Beds, Wardrobes, Study Tables, Electronic cooker and other amenities.

NEW International Student Hostel
Block type hostel accommodation. A Block includes 3 Rooms (Double occupancy basis) with common kitchen (Utensils such as Refrigerator, Pantry cupboards and an Electric cooker along with a Toilet and a Bath cubicle. (All inside one block). Each Room occupies – 2 Beds, 2 Study tables, a wardrobe with two sections for two students, Heating facilities, Electronic stove and other amenities.

Other facilities like – Student Lobby area, elevators, entrance with electronic secured gates, outdoor sports arena, separate Gym facilities for girls and boys etc.

Russian Hostel
Room type hostel accommodation. Each room is on a Triple occupancy basis with common kitchen and washroom facilities for each floor. Each room occupies – 3 Beds, study tables, a wardrobe and heating facilities.

Other facilities like – Gymnasium, Hostel Reading rooms etc.

Living conditions in hostels are of good standards with central heating, hot water systems, cookers, electricity and water supply. They may also prepare their meals individually or collectively in their hostel itself.

Private Apartment Accommodation

Through SMC Foreign office in Belarus, private apartments can be booked. This option is relatively expensive in comparison to university hostels. SMC Education can arrange these facilities upon the request of student and parents who needs luxurious accommodation with more privacy.

Students can share a private apartment and share rental with each other. Students have to pre-inform the SMC officials to book an apartment.

Student’s security will be maintained even if students are in “University Hostel” or on “Private Apartments” as SMC Staff in Belarus looks after the safety.”
